Question what size tires on 20" rims on 2wd expy

i'm looking at a set of 20x8.5 rims for my wife's 97 2wd expedition, the tire choices as a package are either 275/45/20 or 285/50/20, the expy is not lifted or lowered, it is stock 2wd height, does anyone have any pics of an expy or f150 with either of these wheel/tire combo's? the smaller tires should be about the same diameter as my stock 255/70/16's, but i'm thinking i should go with the larger size to take up a little of the gap between the tire and the fenderwell. Any and all opinions are appreciated, as well as any pics. Thanks, Tim

275/45/20 sounds like a good setup, even better if you eventually lower the truck!

The 285/50R20 (Eagle GT II, specifically) is what's used on the stock Harley Davidson trucks.

Well, I was talking about the 2000 HDs. They may very well use 275/45R20s now. Then again, I got that from a non-Ford site, so who knows?

Thanks, Tim

anybody know if the HD's are lowered from the factory, they look great with the wheel/tire combo with 275/45, but i think they're lowered an inch or 2? does anyone have any pics of 285/50's on their truck? i just want to make sure i buy the right combo. Thanks for all the help so far and the gouge on the gt II's, i will look into other tires, i just need to find the right size. Thanks, Tim

yes HD's are lowered like 1 up front and 1.5 in the back or something like that. nothing MAJOR barely noticeable.

285/50 20s on 20x9s 2" shackle drop. Rides just like stock only a little firmer. No noise, good grip, quiet. Not as quiet as the Yoks on my Bimmer, but I have no complaints. Good purchase.

That's a pretty sweet-looking setup there, stika. Any drop in front, or just rears to level it off? What kind of wheel are those / where'd you get them, if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks Jeff. No drop on the front, just the rear. I've had a few lowered vehicles in the past and some times they were more trouble than pleasure for daily driving. I did take the sorry stock shocks off in favor of the Monroe Reflex. Same as the Rancho RSX but cost less, also made by the same company, Tennaco. As stated before, firmer but I like it. Doesn't float. Wheels are ADRs.
