FX4 largest tire with no mods

Here's my first post as a new F-150 owner. I have a 2003 FX4 with the 17x7.5 rims. I have adjusted the torsion bars to achieve equal distance from the top of the rims to the bottom of the fender flares. Not counting this modification, what is the largest tire size I could put on my stock rims without trimming or any other negative effect?

I agree. Without trimming, a 285/70-17(33x11.50) is probably the largest. BFG makes that size also. The 315/70-17's would look sweet, but you would have to trim the front bumper's lower plastic valance to fit them. THey are basically a 35x12.50-17 which is a large hunk of rubber.

The 285/75/16s fit on my truck without even cranking torsion bars, and they don't rub at all, not even close, not even when I am in the mountains and I seriously have the truck flexed and in a bind. I believe the 305s might fit, but for 315s you'll definitely have to do some trimming.

Is the 285 a 10.5 wide or 12 wide.

I would guess the 305 is 12 wide??

I have 285/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R and I love them. They are great on all road conditions and work greatin mud also. They are a little pricey, but well worth it. I have about 10000 miles on them and they look brand new.
