Stuck Caliper

Has anyone else had this problem?

I got a 97 F-150 and while driving my driver side caliper started to stick. I was a few miles from a brake shop, so I decided to run it there. About 2 miles from the shop, I was stoped at a red light and it completely stuck. Dumbass me decides to gun it and keep going. I knew I was going to fry my pads and rotors (pieces of crap) and problely need new calipers. This is all I'm getting replaced:

-Master Cylinder
-Brake Boster
-Calipers
-Rotors
-Pads
-Front Lines

Did I screw up my master cylinder and brake boster when i drove it with the stuck calipers. Or did the master cylinder going out cause my calipers to stick???
The shop didn't really know why the caliper locked up while i was there droping the truck off. If someone could explain this to me, i would appreciate it.

My calipers have been acting up for a couple of years, once or twice a year normally pushing the inside pad into the rotor until totally gone, left , right or both.I took it to dealer just give them money and have nothing found to be wrong. The other week the left caliper siezed lots of smoke,I pulled off the wheel and cracked the bleeder the caliper released and its been fine again. My guess is a hydralic lock caused by the master cylinder.
If anyone has another idea please post.

When I first got my truck, the driver side caliper was locking up at times, usually at low speeds. Anyway, after a few months, my MC started leaking, forcing me to replace it. Since then, I have had no caliper lock up. If you really are getting all of the listed items replaced, I don't possibly see how that will not solve your problem.

There are many explanations for your caliper sticking like that; it is hard to say. It definitely could be the MC, a defectice caliper, or bad booster. The only harm in replacing all that stuff is (obviously) the expense. If you can do the work yourself, you will save quite a bit.

Thanks for the post DG13 and 97 XLT 4x4,4.2L.
I didn't need the brake boster or new rotors after all. I was surprised that I didn't warp the rotors.
I wish I was near my house when it happened, but I was stuck in Baton Rouge, and I had to have the truck for the next day.
I have to go back tomorrow because the brake petal feels spongey and it doesn't engauge until the petal is about half way down.
Thanks
Travis

I wish I was close to home.It happened about an hour away with passengers and wearing light coloured casual attire, not a problem I needed this moment in time. I felt the truck pulling left and when I stopped at an intersection I noticed alot of smoke so I pulled over to the side of the road and fixed it there.
Be very careful with the piece of crap wobbally jack under the seat.

The lower piston on my inside driver's side caliper was stuck today, changed it out with a motorcraft. Probably mud and stuff stuck in it, I got 13x,xxx miles out of it, though.
