tires??
Ok didn't get any replies from my last post, so I'll try this.
I'm looking into getting some new tires. I currently have BFG Long Trails but I don't care much for them. I want something a little more aggressive, something that will handle mountain roads and the Central Pennsylvania winters much better.
I looked into Uniroyal AWT's, but founds some negative reviews. Had BFG All Terrain TA's on my Ranger and loved them but they are a bit $$$. They still are more or less my default choice.
I do mostly street driving, but a fair amount of mountain roads too. Can I get some recommendations on a good tire??

You might want to look at Cooper Tires. I have Cooper Discoverer ATs on my truck and have been quite pleased with them. While we don't get a lot of snow down here, they did fine in what we did get. They have also done well in gravel, rocky terrain, and light mud. Road manners are good, and I have not had any wet traction problems either. I am at 26.5K miles on them so far, and expect to get at least that much more based on the way they are wearing.
Wallmart Liberator AT
I bought them for the EXACT reasons you listed. They are dirt cheap ($95/ea for a 285/75/16), they are agressive enough to work in loose soil, and they are quiet on the road. The only downside I can see is that they need a lot of lead to balance them out.

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo
I had them on my last truck and loved them. I ended up getting the BFG AT TA KO for my new truck, but think the Revo is a better tire for the money.

Cooper...
When I replaced the tires on my 2000 i needed 17" and the best bang for the buck seemed to be the Coopers. THey were a great tire. If you can go 16" look at the Pirelli Scorpian A/T....I had them for my 97, and would have put them on the 2000, but they do not have a 17".
