285/70/17 Goodyear MT/R vs. BFG AT/KO..any gas mileage difference?

I just bought a set of 285/70/17 Goodyear MT/R's yesterday and like them so far. I can see a slight difference in gas mileage already..about a 2-3 mpg loss. If I went with the BFG AT/KO, which is a better highway tire, would I see a considerable difference in MPG? I really like the look of my MT/R's, but does anyone know how the BFG KO looks in the same tire size?

I have the same Wrangler's that you have, same size also, and I noticed a small loss in MPG also. I have never had the BFG, but I would assume it would be a small if any difference in MPG over the Goodyears. I will deal with a 1-2 MPG loss though for the looks of the MT/R's, just my $.02

I don't think you'd see a difference between the two tires. The size is the biggest factor. Plus I can't imagine you'd sell tires you just bought so I wouldn't worry about it

May be stupid to say this but did you take into consideration how much your trucks spedo is off. I went from 265/75R16 to 35X12.5R16's and noticed less of a loss than you. No way you would have lost more than me. If you need a ref for how much your spedo is off check this out.Gear/tire calculators
