Aftermarket Rear Rotors for 2WD
Hey, guys. I figured I would post this info. for the rest of you, since I would have found it very useful when I started looking for new rotors a couple months ago.
The rear rotors on any 2000 (12/99)+ 2WD F150 with 4-wheel (and maybe rear-wheel?) ABS are the exact same rotors as the rear rotors on the 2000+ F150 Lightning. If your truck is a 2000, make sure it was produced after 12/99 (has 14mm studs).
This is useful information because I've been calling around trying to find a full, matching set of zinc-plated slotted rotors for my truck. But everyone I called said they only had rear rotors for the Lightning. Well, it turns out they're the same rotors. I really can't understand why these manufacturers (including PowerSlot and KVR) wouldn't know this, but apparently they don't.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all benefit from this finding.
Oh, yeah; there is a question: When I was looking at the rear rotors on my truck now I couldn't figure out how to get them off. I've pulled and banged with hammers and all the rest of it, and not even a budge. Do I need a tool to pull the axle nut? If anyone has done this before, or if there's a Ford technician out there, please help me out.
