Dueler A/T D693 or the A/T Revo?
Dueler A/T D693 or the A/T Revo?
99 4x4 Lariat w 5.4, 3.73 gears and 17x7.5 rims
Ok, for $119 a tire I am really tempted to get the 315 BFG's but I am not looking foward to pre-mature tire and brake wear plus even worse gas mileage...
So I have been looking at the Bridgestone's...
Where I live, when it rains it tends to always flood a little and the most off roading I do is at the beach so my main concern is a tire that can handle the rain.
At the local Firestone dealer the A/T Revos ( stock size ) will run me about $760 to mount, stems, warrnty etc.
At CostCo, the A/T D693 Duelers ( I guess this is the grade just below the revos ) will run me $433 for the same!
Are the Revos that much better than the regular A/T's? If they are then I can just order them from the Tirerack and have a local tire shop balance and slap them on for $35 bucks.
Or someone please convince me to go w the 315's.

Can't say if the Revo's are worth that much more, but the D693s worked VERY well for me on my'97 - well enough I took them off to use on my '99 when the current tires wear out. The D693s are the Dueler AT that everyone (for the most part ) liked before the Revo came out. A good tire at a good price (and with a 50k mile treadlife warranty to boot)!
I pretty much agree with gopher. The D693 is the old design of the Revo. It was a great tire and still is. For that much price difference, I would get the D693. Or, shop around because you should be able to find the Revo for less, in the $550-650 range. I got my Revo's last fall from Tirerack right around $600 installed. I have heard of someone on here getting them for about $575 in 265/70R17.
BTW, nice truck. I have the same, 99 Lariat ORP 3.73 gears.

Thanks for the input guys...
After much tire shopping and comparing I've decided to go with the D693 Dueler instead of the Revo because I just can't pass up $433 installed.
I think I'll be pretty happy with this tire.
APT...sweet ride
Mine is maroon w tan trim.
I was thinking with going w the blackwalls but after seeing your pics I think I will go with the white lettering showing.
