What size Rims & Tires, Lift?
Ok, I am looking to put some bigger tires on to make a more aggressive look. I want to know what size tires I can get on without having to do a lift, or if a lift is necessary, what type should I go with? I was thinking of putting 16x10 rims on, and getting some Nitto Grappler 305X70's. I was originally looking at 315x75's, but I don't think they will fit w/o a major lift. Anyway, will 305x70's fit w/o too much modification? I saw SmokeyFX4 put them on his FX4, but not sure if I can put them on my 2001 Offroad as easy.

From the look of your pic, it look like you have 17" wheel (factory)
My factory tires were 265/70R17. the hight different between 265/70R17 and 305/70R16 is the 305s are only 1.2" taller than the factory. This is only a little mor than 1/2" on each side of the tire. I don't think you will have any problem.

Hmm, I measured a set of the tires (305x70) from a tire shop. They measured about 32½" tall. My stock tires roughly 30" tall, so about 1¼" more on each side, but it's the width of 10" that concerns me. Any problems turning? What offset do you have on your rims? I also wanted to ask how you like your Nitto Grapplers? Do they ride comfortably? Loud road noise? How's the traction in rain, ect.? Now the 315x70's stand 34½" tall, so 2¼" more on each side, I guess that would require me to get a lift.
Yes the 10" was my biggest concerned. The guy at the tire store did not think that it would fit. Right after installing them I thought I was in deep S__t. They did not look like they would turn. I could only turn the steering wheel about 10° to each side. I had to cut the conner lower valance about 2" off
As for the Nittos I'm very happy with them. Very quite and just as good as factory ride on the highway and handle very well in wet condition. I'm not sure about offroad 99% of my use for this truck is in city driving. The only problem I have is that when it rain and when I hit a puddle of water the truck will pull hard (wider tire). I installed steering stabilizer today and hopefully this take care of some of this problem. The only thing I found on the Nittos is that they seem to be softer rubber and I'm not sure how many miles I'll get out of this set.
If you want to put 315s you have to lift minimum 3". I did look into this option but decided not to lift because in Houston most of the parking grages are 6' 7" and I barely fit mine with the set up I have.

Guess I'll go with the 305's till I decide if I want to get a lift or not. Thank you for all your input. I was hoping you would reply, since I knew you had the size tire I was looking at and also wanted review on the Nitto's.
