Rock Crawler rims?

Anyone using any of the Rock Crawler rims? I'm currently running on the Chrome Star rims, but they're starting to get rusty before their time. I need to get new rims for my new 33" tires, and am wondering if the Black coated rims would rush just as quickly. Is anyone using the Black Rock Crawler rims who can give me some info on how well they're withstanding rust? Thanks!!!!

are these the ones your talking about ? if so it is just a steel wheel so if you get any deep scratches it will rust pretty fast. i have a buddy who didnt clean his much and the mud and dirt made them rust pretty quick.

The advantage of the painted rock crawlers is that if its scratched and starts to rust just sand blast them down and repaint em. Most of the black rock crawlers I've seen that have actually been run offroad have stood up pretty well. On the other hand IMO black wheels looks like *** on 99% of newer F150s.

actually the advantage is if they get all scratched up you dont have to sandblast them you can afford to buy some more.

Yeah, those Wheels. My only thought is that I have a set of stock wheels, which are like 7 years old and they haven't rusted at all. If new wheels are just going to rust on me, I might as well keep the stockers. (Note, I wouldn't use the Stock rims with 33"s, I'd do an 8 tire swap around)

Boy what a smart idea, wish I'd thought of it

So you mean to tell me that thats the reason to get steel wheels, because they're so cheap that you can afford to replace them when they get scratched? Hmmm........lets see I'm just going to go out and buy another $300 in wheels instead of $20 in paint just cause my PAINTED steel wheels are scratched. Boy now theres some logic for ya

I dunno about you, but it doesn't take me that long to sandblast a part like that and to paint it. Heck it takes longer to tape off the wheels for painting. Besides a few hours out of a weekend spent fixing the wheels as compared to buying a new set of wheels is much more preferable, or in my case I just don't give a flying fawk if they're rusted or not.

Line X the wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

might be a cool idea.

Another good thing about the steel wheel is that if you bend it you can kinda bend it back.
