Question ABS & BRAKE Lights On? But have Brakes?

Ok, it is raining out an dI have a 99 F150, everything runs fine, still have good brakes. Lights come on about an hour ago ( ABS & BRAKE ) they stay on, I turn off the truck and restart and lights are off for like 20 seconds and then back on again? Any Ideas?
Rear Sensor would do the ABS but the Brake Light? HELP!!!

HI TERRY ! Hows the fluid level?I think if you have moisture in the fluid it might send a signal too..

I agree with checking the fluid level, on my wifes 99 we had the light on and it was just low on fluid.

Angry

fluid level is full and the float is not stuck in the unit so I am pretty sure that is not the problem? Guess it is a trip to the shop on Monday for diagnostics and repair.

of course you have brakes! the brakes are still a manual operation.

the light means that your ABS isn't on. most likely something on one of the sensors. have you had brake work done lately? sometimes brakes that have been turned and not cleaned off properly get metal shavings on the ABS sensors. (They are magnetic) brake pads worn to the mounting surface (Like down to the rivets in the old days) can cause the metal shavings too.

Well the answer is in, it was the sensor on the differential and the ABS module for the computer, a 12.00 part and a 259.00 part.......... aRggggggggggggggggggggg I swear, I wish for once it could be just a $12.00 part without the other one costing me too! lol
