wheel swap

I have a 1998 F150 with 16x7 wheels and I just purchased new tires a month ago. Goona give truck to my brother. I just bought a 2001 F150 Supercrew and it has 17x7.5 wheels and I want those the tires off the 98. My question is ,can I swap wheels between trucks?

Yes, you just need to keep the lug nuts off the 98 with the 98 and the ones off the 01 with the 01. The 98 has 12mm studs and the 01 has 14mm studs. Other thank keeping the lug nuts with the right truck they'll swap fine.

Wheeld sre swapped

Thanks for the answer Powerstroke, I swapped everything tonight and it all looks good. Tolerance between inside of wheel and disc brakes much tighter than I thought but everything clears and looks good

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about making the swap from 17's to 16's. The reason for this is the more choices of wheels and tires. I just got conflicting reports. Glad the swap can be done.

Talking Still good

Got 2500 miles on since swap and no problems whatsoever. It will surprise you how close the caliper is to the wheel but I have towed 5500 lbs. of trailer and skid loader 150 miles, went a quarter mile across a very rough and muddy field and saw no problems Thought maybe mud would build up a little but nothing. I run a pretty tall and narrow tire-255/85/16 and have no issues in fact speedo only off about 1.5-2.0 mph
