Question New Brake Rotors

I read many of the posts around here about new rotors and I had thought I had settled on the Power Slot rotors that several people recommended on this site. Unfortunately when I called Power Slot they do not make rotors for the 2WD yet only the 4WD.

I have changed my brakes once around 40K and had the rotos turned. I have not had any rotor warping at all, but when they turned them they said you can only do it once before you drop below the minimum thickness. Can anybody else with 2WD recommend a good slotted rotor for my truck? I do not want to go with cross drilled since they are prone to cracking. I have ordered the Hawk HPS Street Pads from Tire rack, but the only rotors they carry are the Brembo OEM rotors. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I have a 4x4 and I went with the Brembos. They are great for the price!

I did some checking around and it looks as though the only thing available for you as of yet are the Brembo Replacements from Tire Rack. So you have a few choices you can get the Brembo's which are an improvement over stock and wait until something else come out. You can check into a complete Big Brake upgrade which could get pricey. And i am not even sure they make one yet. Or get regular replacment rotors and wait until something comes out. The brembo's are nice alternetive to stock though I installed a set on my wifes Honda.

Are you sure they don't have them? Truck Performance has Power Slot ones for my 98 2WD.

Well, I after checking out a bunch of different companies, about the only option until the Power Slot ones come out in May (possibly) for the 2WD is the Brembo OEM. If I remember my prices correctly they are around $80/each from Tire Rack and the Ford ones were over $100 so I'm still money ahead and get a quality rotors. I just wish I figured this out before I ordered the pads from Tire Rack so I could have combined the shipping and saved a little money.

I really would have liked a big brake upgrade to go with the new Kumho Ecsta STX tires I put on, but I'll just put the money I saved to my fund to get a FFR Shelby Cobra Kit Car

Thanks for checking around for me.

I have the PowerSlots but I really don't think you can go wrong with any product from Brembo, they are a great name in brakes and of all the people that have purchased these rotors, I have yet to hear any problems or complaints.
