Question Cheap (inexpensive) tires online?

Does anyone know where to find a good deal on tires?

...or just a good tire site in general?

I spend my tire research time at www.tirerack.com

www.1010tires.com is another decent site.

Good luck finding some new shoes for your ride.

For inexpensive tires, you are probably better off going to a local place, or calling a few to find out their prices. I have ordered a few sets of tires from Tirerack and I generally pay about $10shipping for each tire, then another $15ea for installing it. That is pretty fixed. If the tire cost $200, or it cost $40, the fxed costs hurts you more at the lower end. Where the internet helps is when there is a specific tire you have in mind you cna compare the prices on-line vs. what the local places charge. I always compare because sometimes it works out to ship them, other times it is better to go local.

Mark D.

I've seen both of those sites you mentioned and I couldnt see any real savings by shopping through them.

BTW, how do you like your Airforce 1? I'm thinking of getting one.

Hey SacGyver,

Yes, those sites I mentioned are where I go to look at tires or read reviews, but I also found that by the time you pay shipping and pay to have the tires mounted and balanced it ends up costing more, but I have heard of some tires being so cheap on the site that it makes sense for some.

My ultimate decision was that Wal-Mart was the cheapest for the tires I want, coupled with the choice of locations around the nation to have tires rotated, warranty protection etc.

I like my AF1, it's been on about 25,000 miles now and I've had no problems with it. I installed it around the same time I did my superchip and magnaflow exhaust so it's hard to say if I felt any major increase in power specifically from the AF1, but the 3 mods sure make a nice difference together.

Happy truckin',
