ART Rotors

I was almost at the point of trading in my 97 F150 4X4 because of the brakes. They warped at 23,000 and then at 33,000. Both times I had them turned, once by the dealer and another time by my michanic. at 45,000 they warped again. I never realy liked the brakes on my truck, in 2001 I got a Expedition and the brakes on that SUV are much better, making it worse to drive my truck with the spongy pedel and bad brakes. My last resort was to find some better rotors and if that did not work I was going to trade in my truck (I like my truck and its paid off). After searching the internet I found ART Rotors http://www.appliedrotortechnology.com/ , Talked to Dean and he sent me out the rotors and pads for $340 shipped. I now have about 400 miles on the new rotors but the differnce is fantastic, They feel better then my 01 Expedition and I have no plans on trading in my truck.

Just wanted to share this incase some out there is going through what I did.

Peace.

I almost bought the ART Rotors but I had a heck of a time getting in touch with them and that kinda bothered me, so I ended up buying Powerslot rotors, and so far I am happy, althought they only improved the braking slightly, there is no more shimmy from warped rotors.

I had all the same problems you had and I had just learned to live with it. Until it got to the point where it shimmied while driving down the highway. (Like a tire out of balance)

So I bought the OEM Brembos and EBC 6000 pads from tirerack for about $180.00 shipped. That was over 5k miles ago! They are great. No dust, no warp, no shimmy, no fade. They seem to stop better as they get hotter.

Trypical of the FORD Rotors and I just upgraded mine to Powerlsot Rotors and HAWK HP Light Duty Truck pads and it is a drastic impovement over the stock POS rotors and pads. I am also witing for some Russell Braided Stainless Steel Brake Lines form www.truckperformance.com which will also help improve the brake performance. I tow a 21' Wakeboard Boat so I really was tired of the brakes over heating and fading during the hot summer months.Total Cost for upgrading to Powerslots and HAWK pads was 260.00 and worth every penny.I got the rotors thur Truckperformance and the pads at www.tirerack.com I also just replaced the Rotors on the wife's car with the OEM brembos and they are a nice improvement on here Honda over stock.

It was 4 weeks for me last Friday. He did have to order the rotors, then treat them. I'll call him today to make sure the order is still on his books.
