another tire size question
I have a 97 150 4x4 with 16x7 inch rims. It's running 265 75. I don't know about you people, but I hate those measurements. I'm all about inches. I heard I could fit 33x12.50's without having to lift. Anyone tried it yet?

A lot of people are running 285/75 (33x11.50) and 305/70(33x12.50) on stock 4x4's. They fit fine. If you go to an aftermarket 16x8 or 16x10 inch rim you will have to crank up the torsion bars and/or trim some plastic off the front bumper's lower plastic valance to fit them.
Either will fit fine but a 16x8 is the minimum recommeded for a 305 by most manufacturers. That would be a good excuse to get some aftermarket rims later on.
If you plan on keeping the stock 16x7's forever, I would go with the 285's.

Just so you know you will NOT have to cut or trim anything or crank up your torsion bars when running a LT285/75/16 with a 16x8 wheel. Also several guys on here run the 285/75/16's on their stock 16x7 wheels however i think the minimum recomended is 7.5". If you want to see what a truck looks like with 16x8 wheels and LT285/75/16 Tires go here:
