What tire sizes will fit?

I have the stock 16 inch 4x4 wheels, and I want to go to bigger tires than the stock size, but I don't want to lift or change wheels. What is the biggest size that will fit on my stock rim? I like the 305s, but I have read that I may have to do some trimming, how hard is this to do? Thank you for any help that you can give!

I'm running LT285/75R16 BFG A/T KO's on my stock 16x7 rims, on my 98 4x4 supercab with tons of clearance in all wheel wells. From what I hear you can fit LT305/70R16's with little to no contact. Some of the guys on this site mention the need to slightly trim their factory mud flaps to fit these tires.

Hope this helps

svt2205, I don't want to be too big, just to fill up the wheel well a little bit. Do the 285s look alright on yours?

The biggest problem with running a 305 is the width of the rim the stock wheel is to narrow you need at least a 8.5" wide wheel and a 10" is the preferred. You may have to trim a slight amount of the front valance also with the 305. The 285 and the 305 are the same heigth the only differance is the 285 is 11.00" wide while the 305 is 12.50" wide. Many guys on here run the 285 on the stock 16" wheel and have had no problems that i have heard. To see what a truck looks like with the 285's go here:
