A couple weeks ago I couldn't get my truck out of park. I figured out the trick to it and drove it a day or two. Realizing that my brake lights didn't work and that applying the brakes didn't disengage cruise, I changed the brake lamp switch and it fixed the problem. Today on my way home from work, cruise was hard to disengage with brakes again. I can get it out of park and my brake lights work...any ideas????

 

check the wire at the connector(at the switch)...right where the crimp is the wire is probably cut...been several instances of it including mine..I have a '97

Tex, Thanks for the pointer! Finally, got around to checking it out...sure enough it was a broken wire. I guess when I changed out the switch, I aggravated an upcoming problem. took 30 min to fix. Thanks again.
