Question Cooper Discoverer H/T

Has anybody here had any experience with the Cooper Discoverer H/T. I am looking at getting these because most of my driving is on the highway and they come with a 60,000 mile warranty, and appear to be decent for snow/rain.. any opinions would be great.. thanks, Dusty

Coopers

The company I work for uses them on all their trucks, Chevys at that. In our bet up 98 shift truck them seem to ride pretty good. My truck only has 22k and I still have the Goodyears that it came with but i will not be replacing them with Goodyears. We have bought a half dozen sets of Cooper tires over the years and have had good service from all of them, 40k+ even on the cheaper car tire versions. I am considering buying the HT's myself when these get a little thinner so if anybody can add some more to this I would like to know myself as I am not totally satisfied with the Goodyears, they seem to ride hard and their snow traction is marginal. I had the Cooper Discoverer AT's, I realize your asking about the HT's, but I imagine the quality would be the same. I liked the AT's alot, they handled great in snow and the rain and rode nicley, however I didn't rotate them as much as I should have and they wore down pretty quick. Overall I would buy the Cooper brand again.

Thumbs up

I have had Cooper tires on three vehicles and I will likely have them on any others I may buy. They are a great tire hands down. Right now I have H/T's on the wifes explorer and A/T's on my F150. Also at my job we have a fleet of 210 vans and pickups all but a small handfull with cooper's on them. You can not go wrong with them in my opinion.

I realize your asking about the HT's, anyway I had the Cooper Discoverer S/T on my 97 2wd and it was the best tire for the price I ever had, hope that helps.

I have the A/Ts also - and after 18K+ miles, there is virtually no treadware. They are much better in the rain than the stock Steeltex ATs I had on my last truck, and they do fine off-road (so far) and decent in light mud.

Bought my f150 used with half worn Discoverer H/T's on there. Granted they are the narrower 235 width size so I suspect a lot of my accelerating wet traction short comings are there (and same with hard turning) but otherwise they seem fine. No issues braking in wet or dry although I'm slightly apprehensive on how they will handle snow as I've either run dedicated snow tires or a good all terrain for the last 5 years.
