ABS Problem

I have a 2000 F150 and the ABS light came on about 6 weeks ago at engine startup. I got some feed back from this site and chaged VSS on the rear end. I disconnected both battery terminals while I put in the new VSS. The light remained on, and I still don't have ABS brakes. I also had 2 different places try their scanners on it and it does not show any problem code. Anyone have any ideas?

tell us if its rabs(rear antilock) or 4wabs(4 wheel antilock) and we might offer some help. they diagnose differntally.

They are just rear anti-lock.

this system is not diagnosed with a scanner. you have to locate the black/orange wire in the right front kick panel, unhook it from the red wire, turn key to run, ground the bk/o wire until the abs lamp starts flashing, then read code.

I will give this a try on Monday. If and when I get a code, is there somewhere I can look that will explain what the code means.
