Intermitent ABS light

My ABS light has come on twice in the past week and there was nothing done different when I started the truck those times than any other time that I'm aware of. Is it too late to pull the codes after the light has gone off? I've got a warrenty for another 2500 miles since I just got the truck used so I'd take it to the dealer I guess.

Yeah, I should have known to include the year. It's a 99 4x4 with the 5.4.

I took the truck in today. They replaced the vehicle speed sensor under warrenty. Anyone else had this go out? Where is it located?

THe VSS is in the tailshaft housing on the left rear of the transmission. It also controls the speedometer and odometer functions too, did you see any problems with speedo??

abs reads off the RAS (rear axel speed sensor) for the rear wheels.
