So a week ago its pooring rain at night and i make a turn in a culdesac. Went straight on into the face of the sewer opening. Craziest thing the rim bent towars the tire not towards the lugnuts....crazy. anyways its not bad but it's an 02 4x4 and i see it and bugs the hell out of me...anybody have any suggestions as far as getting it fixed, how much it may be and if there is a good place to go. thanks, i may just my fx4 rims from a post in the classifeds if it cost too much. Thanks
On the contrary, aluminum wheels can be repaired, depending on the injury to the rim. I would call some local places near you to see if anyone handles this.
If not, in El Cajon/Santee, California there is a place called Edco, My mechanic sent the wheels off my BMW there (Fittapaldi) as they were dented due to the difference of opinion between 45 series tires and potholes. To true the 4 wheels and refinish the set (Satin) it was in the neighborhood of $300. When the wheel (set) was returned you could not see the damage at all, at least not on any visable aspects of the wheel once the tire went on. As a matter of fact there was evidence of heat/welding done to the wheel. there were welding beads inside the rim.
So that said, Good luck

I bent a rim a couple years back hit a bad pot hole felt like the hole right front wheel came off that is how hard it it i stoped right away to check everything looked fine but it wasn't the rim bent on the inner lip unles you pull it off or turn the wheels all the way so you could look at that side but i didn't do that and had a blow out 100 miles latter nobuddy would repair the rim as they siad it was hard to do plus would be a saftey issue so I ended up getting a new rim.
