Question I got the shakes

I have a 97 4.6 F-150 and when I hit the brakes it shakes pretty bad. I changed the pads and had the rotors turned, but that didn't fix it. I had a friend look at it and he noticed that I didn't have the bearings properly seated. He thinks that I may have warped the rotors...can that happen? If so how could I be sure?

It can certainly happen because of the bearings as your friend has said. Other than taking it in, a simple way of checking if they are warped is to take off the wheel, and slightly turn the rotor by hand. If the rotor is warped, then it should make more noise (from friction) as the warped area passes by the pads. But if those bearings aren't seated properly, this will only be a pain. Make sure you take'm out and repack'em again (even if you suspect that you might have put'em back in wrong. an ounce of prevention....yeah yeah..you know) Dunno if this helps at all....good luck.

Cool

It's interesting how it takes someone to be wrong before anyone else botheres to answer an original question; not a flame, just an observation.
