Smile Using ALOT of brake fluid.

98 XLT 4x4, I keep having to add brake fluid roughly every 3 weeks, 70% hwy/30% town driving. Because of this I've been taken extra care not to do any hard braking but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions or is this normal? Thanks in advance.

This is absolutely NOT normal. You must have a leak somewhere. First place to check are the 4 wheels. Then check all the brake tubing all the way from the wheels to the master cylinder. If they're dry, then you probably got a bad master cylinder. To check that, pull off the vacuum hose from the power booster and stick a screwdriver into the hose. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake fluid will be drawn thru the booster and into the hose. You should find evidence of brake fluid in the hose.

BTW, I'm assuming the obvious that the fluid isn't leaking out of the master cylinder reservoir or cap, yes?
