Hawk brake pads
Has anyone heard of Hawk High Performance
brake pads? Truck Performance has them and at 57.95 a pair they're pretty steep. Anyone use them?

Yes, It is actually Wellman Linings. I purchased the "Street Fighter" lining from carbo-tech engineering. Excellent results!!!

Thanks for the info. TruckPerformance muffed my order so I'm still waiting for them. I ordered the PowerSlot rotors too. Hopefully this combo will shorten my stopping distances. The stock break system is really weak.

Lots of Mustang roadrace guys run Hawk pads. If you got the right compound they should work great. Let us know how it goes..

I just installed Friction Performance pads on the front and they feel much improved over what I had. On the rear I used a dial caliper and found only a few thousandths wear so I sanded the shoes, cleaned the drums and hardware with brake clean and put it back together. After a good adjustment the truck stops much better.

Is there a warranty on the hawk pads? I'm wavering between the performance friction or the hawk hps. Only about $15 difference.

I use Hawks on my Turbo Miata. I really like them, as they can hold up to track days and are still great on the street. I got the Carbotech version of Hawks this last time (Carbotech's are cryo frozen Hawks). They are the best pads I have ever used in the Miata. Very powerful braking and totally fade proof, even on the track.
I tried to get some Carbotech (frozen Hawks) for the F150, however they sent me the wrong ones. I ended up putting on Discount Auto parts Bendix pads. They are also better than stock.
