Wheel question!

I have a 97 4x4 with 16" rims. On the the rim is says 14mm by the stud holes. Does this mean I have 14 mm studs, and the newer wheels will work? Or do I still have 12mm studs, but the wheels just have 14mm openings? I am looking to put a set of FX4 wheels on it. Will there be any problems or concerns? Any help would be grateful.

From what I have read, the 97-99's have 12mm studs and the 2000's and up have 14mm studs. Some on here have said that the newer wheels will work on the 12mm studs but that old wheels will not work on new 14mm studs. I think that they will though. Our wheels are not supported by our lugs, they rest on the hub, the studs and lugs just hold the wheels on. The lug holes on our wheels are not exact matches for the studs or they would be a real pain to put on. Also if you look at aftermarket wheels, they are one size for 97-02. Someone sells an adapter to take up the 2mm space, but I think that is a waste of time and money. The only thing you need to do is use the right size lugs. I think that some here are having problems finding chrome 12mm flat lugs for wheels where the lugs are exposed. I am in the process of getting some 5 spoke factory aluminum wheels off of an 02 and I am not worried at all about the 2mm.
