Remember, LA is the birth place of "Road Rage", kind of understandable now isn't it?

The best advice I can give is to plan out where you want to go during the night before and try to make it places where you can spend a large amount of time and you walk around and being entertained that way. Hence the Long Beach Aquarium which is right across the street (ok, it's a big street, lol) from Shoreline Village.

You can always try to get carjacked and watch the pursuit on the news in your hotel room

I spent the morning driving around Buena Park & Cerritos. Really didn't find all that much though - Knott's Berry park looked okay but probably boring going solo...

Tomorrow will entail a trip over to Crystal Cove State Park to spend a little time with mother nature. It looks like a pretty nice place - anyone been there?

Tonight's fun is dinner with this huge group of people from my wife's Yamaha group. It should be a great time *rolls eyes*.

There appeared to be another SP south of Long Beach. I wasn't sure that I should be over in that area??

So far, we're defintely a minority here in this area...I keep expecting a WICKED ninja fight to break out.

You should check out Venice Beach. Dodgers are playing night games on fri and sat. Exposition Park is by there (Natural history museum, aerospace museum, black history museum, rose garden). Pasadena has some good shopping. There is a couple more ideas for you.

Or you could check out the Getty Museum or the Museum of Tolerance, both well worth it.

Or shoot south west and spend the day in Laguna Beach. Pretty beaches and you can just park and walk. Sun Dried Tomato is a great resteraunt there.

I think we're going to run to Crystal Cove State Park today... Unfortunately, I'm stuck with one of the other training attendees' husband as well... so, walking on the beach we're going to look a bit fruity I suppose.

Heck, we would've fit right in! LOL!

No, seriously, we ran over there and cruised the beach for some 'scenery' for a bit. Wasn't much to be seen honestly but, the natural scenery (outside the bikinis) was VERY neat. I'm used to a beach setting similar to that of Florida -- that being that the beach slowly rises into the 'Sea Oates' line and then there's a condo or parking area. The beaches along the coast that we saw were much more along the lines of rising into a steep cliff and then into natural chaparral habitat. Very cool stuff.

Tonight's agenda is Downtown Disney I believe... Might run to Hollywood tomorrow.

I'm back in the saddle in Kentucky now... we got back around 2:30 AM Sunday morning thanks to 'mechanical' problems on our connecting flight out of Oakland....

Thanks to everyone who helped out in keeping me entertained while I was out there. We hit Downtown Disney (Slick Rick was performing at the House of Blues -- muhahahahaha!), I went over to Crystal Cove State Park -- BEAUTIFUL!, and we also hit the Alcatraz Brewing Company at 'The Block' -- cool spot and great brew (I highly recommend the Weiss Guy). I also drove around the Buena Park area and hung out in Cerritos quite a bit. I don't know how you guys manage with all the traffic... that, without a doubt, will be my main memory of SoCal.

Enjoyed my time out there but, I'm glad to be back home -- at least for the moment -- back to my other address in Missouri today so that I may continue to live out of a suitcase.

Both my wife and I are natives and we are seriously thinking of checking out of here. One place we are looking is San Antnio TX. For what we could sell our condo for here, we could buy a new house outright. I am talking a 3000 sq ft place with 5 bedrooms.

RP, at my last job, I was working in downtown LA and it was only 8 miles to work. I didn't have to take a freeway. Now I work at the Universal lot and it's about 20 miles. Takes about 25 min going in but 45 coming home. Sometimes I hate LA.

I'd have to say that I hated it while I was there... unbearable traffic. Couple that with the wildfires that were running near I-5 and the associated slow-a$$ traffic, and I was sick of it in a hurry.
