I told my new boss @ Ford about this date so he better give me it off, I'm going to try and work a couple days that I have off so I get this off if not. I'm new there but it's a neat job, you feel like you're doing the bitch work being a detailer though so I might try being a salesman, the salesmen are in the A/c'd showroom wrestling around the ford gt. I am outside washing range rovers, bmw 745's (neat car), vettes, rarely a ford vehicle. The owner is black and rich, he loves expensive cars and takes them home with him...how awesome is that. He has cameras mounted @ the dealership he watches from his mansion and you're not really allowed to wash your truck in the detail shop but I think eventually I'll be on his good side and he won't mind. I have Thurs/Fri's off...wtf is that. During my 90day period it's 8.00/hr...not too shabby for a first job. I'm going to put my status as 100% for encouragement reasons but I'm almost certain I'll make it...I will use my good looks and charm on the secretary if it comes down to it. Might bring a different girl this time.

I love looking at pics for memories and we'll make you a sig when we return. Your pics last time were great Joe, too bad about the cam.

Bryan, can't wait to see you there with the trailer, you'll be fine and you'll have a blast with it. Either way we clear out a spot when we get there (there was plenty of space in the morning/afternoon), we'll clear enough for everyone. This time it needs to be bigger than last and lets try to think of an ideal shape where everyone can sit on their tailgates around the fire, or have our hoods popped so everyone can check eachothers out.

Thats awsome that you got a job a the Ford dealer Josiah. I tried to get one there about a month ago and I pretty much had the job until they realized I was only 17 and you have to be 18 to drive the cars around and all the jobs require you to do that. Even the detailer. They alsotold me about being a porter, I think thats what it is called. Its where you shofer people back to their house or work after they have dropped their car off at the service department. That might be more entertaining than the detailer although with the detailer you might actually get some neat cars that come by.

I've seen many detail people move up into sales, as well as alarm techs, etc...

The GM at my old store started in the car business by washing cars. By the way, now you get D-plan (dealership employee pricing) so go buy something with a warranty! I'll try to make the Aug 12/13 meet if I can, but no firm commitments as of yet. Ya'll take it easy now...

 

Yeah, I have had to drive vehicles all the time and I'm one of 3 (I work with one of them for the moment to train). Today was hot as hell. The beamer had this **** on the center console top and you twist it to scroll through options on the nav screen, it "pulses" through every option and it spins smooth when the car is off...feels real neat...I'm a sucker for luxury. I don't know what it was today but it was hot, over 100 I'm sure. I got sent home because it wasn't busy period (probably the heat)...that pissed me off...was my 2nd day. It gets to you when you know the owner went out of his way to call the dealership to let you know you need to go home. I was in the middle of a job so he should have told one of the salesmen to go home if it was because it was slow. It's cause I'm white.

And ***** you chris Stop flakin too, you don't have to be scared now...that cop probably forgot all about making you pickup those nails you left...but we sure didn't! Alright, I'm done. I hope to see you there though, who else is going to pull me off the beach.

& Don't worry dave, I had the job @ Applebees until they found out I was 17 too (I was then). Once you're 18 it'll be much easier as college has more flexible hours, they think you're mature, etc.
