Unhappy Cal 2004 F-150s ??

Well, where is everyone? I've seen more and more new 2004s on the road in the past two weeks here. And thats along with "hundreds" of 2003 and earlier models. Can't believe there is no one on this forum.

Anyone got pain about our gas prices in California? Just got my 2004 PCM reburn back from Troyer/Superchips with a stage I Tow/Perf 91 octane burn. What a trip! I've been paying $2.53 gal at Chevron locally. Its cheaper a bit at ARCO but their gas is garbage so I don't even try it.

Any comments? Please....

Best to ask "Which Radio". Well the moble set up is a Yaesu FT-8100 dual bander (VHF/UHF) and an Icom IC-706 MkII HF radio. They are mounted under the center seat cushion in my F-150. I made up a nice aluminum strip mount that holds the seperated control heads just in front of the center of my dash below the stock AM/FM radio. Easy to reach and read.

Antennas are a dual band VHF/UHF on a lip mount on the top of the passenger rear door frame and the HF antenna, on a lip mount on the driver side rear door frame, is a High Sierra Screwdriver 80 meter thru 6 meter antenna. The coax is tucked along the rear inside of the back doors and goes under the truck cab then inside. Power is run directly to the battery.

My home station fills up a small room that is 6 ft wide and 12 ft long. Everything is mounted on 4 each 19 inch wide 8 ft tall relay racks. My main radios are an Icom IC-775DSP and an Elecraft K2. I have other boatanchors including Heathkit stuff. Digital modes are run with the computer sound card and an AEA PK900 multimode controller.
QRO is provided with an Ameritron AL-82 1500 watt PEP amp and a Ten Tec Hercules II solid state amp (750 watt). Lots of other stuff here too.

Antenna farm is 150 ft from the station and is a GlennMartin 60ft tower with a 15 ft mast. All lines are burried. Antenna switching is done with an Array Solutions Six Pak. HF antennas are a Cushcraft X9 for 10/15/20M, Cushcraft A3WS for 12/17M. These on a Prosistel Rotor. Inverted V's for 40 and 75/80M. I shunt load the tower for 160 meters. A VHF/UHF vert is on the tip top of the mast.

I used to do lots of packet but have been away from it for a while. Have a couple of GE Phoenix rigs (VHF) programmed for the VHF packet freqs.

I also own and run two repeaters here locally. One on 147.180 Mhz and the other on 445.340 Mhz. These keep me kinda busy. I built both of them using Motorola Mitrek radios.

Not as busy on the air as I'd like to be, maybe because I can't get away from my 2004 F-150 Thats why I put in the moble gear.
