Question Ticking noise when first starting up?

Can someone please help me? I have a 1997 Ford f150 xlt. In the mornings when first started there is a loud ticking noise. It stops after 2 minutes. Some mornings it does it and sometimes it doesnt. It really does it on cold mornings. Then the rest of the day it doesnt do it anymore. I have 145,000 miles on it and this is the first problem i have ever had with it. Thanks!
