Angry New DPFE sensors are absolute junk

Hey all- Well, after some research, my truck is on her 3rd DPFE sensor in 40,000 miles. Always good fuel, good oil, good maintenance all around. The Ford dealer parts manager told me that if this one cooks, just come on back for a free one. He stated that the new plastic DPFE sensor, which rides on two plastic hoses off of the EGR tube, is total crap and he orders them by the case due to their complete lack of reliability. Do you think Ford is aware of this? This is patently ridiculous! By the way, the little black piece of plastic, which contains nothing but two copper plates and a transducer of some type, is $68.00. Well, I'm pissed off, and can't believe this! Despite some carbon fouling problems on 4.6's, I have learned that the majority of P0401 and P0402 codes are simply these ******in sensors. Good luck to all with these- I have found that cleaning the contacts is not effective.

Cool

HI!... Why not get a DPFE sensor off the older trucks? My "99" has a aluminum one, and it lasted 120,00KMS till it went. The DPFE sensor is over $100(CAN) here. Thank god I know people that work at the FORD planys here. I got my replacement one for free.
