Belt chirp on first start

I've seen other messages on here about belt noise but they all seem to say that there noise is constant untill the belt gets dry. My noise is only on the first start and only lasts a second wet, dry, cold, warm it doesn't matter but it does sound like a belt chirp has anyone else had this or knows what else it could be if i'm wrong.

I've had the belt problem many times. The only thing I can tell you is that it will get worse. I bought a new belt from NAPA and have no problems. This is after about $350 buying other pieces trying to correct the squeal/chirp. The best I can tell you is chang the belt, but don't buy one from the dealership.

Is it possible to spray a little belt dressing on it so it grips better?

Do you have all your accessories off - fans, radio, A/C etc?

Ford makes an updated/upgraded belt for that concern. All ford dealerships should stock it at this time.
Cures all the startup/cold belt chirp/squeel concerns.

(personally, all belt dressing does is make a HUGE mess, and lighten your wallet)........

I had belt noises three different times - the dealer tried many things, all under warranty, the only thing that worked was replacing the belt, but it required three new belts before it stopped?

Also, only happened in cold weather. which being in Augusta, means under 40 degrees.

More then likely, the 3rd, (and last time), was the upgraded/updated serp belt!

I just changed my belt last week with a new Goodyear "gatorback".

It seems to be working excellent.

Anybody else had any experience with these belts?

Gatorback solved problem

I had a consistant problem when auto shifted under load after switching to a Diablo chip. Gatorback installation solved it - right away. Highly recommended.

my previous truck had a problem with the belt making noises and the dealer used Vaseline to quiet it down, they said that belt dressing doesnt penetrate into the belt, and so it just makes a mess and doesnt soften the belt up any. however the vaseline penetrates the belt and makes it a little softer, so it grips and conforms better. just smear it generously on the belt and it will spread itself around.

the belt or a pulley chirps away on my truck for about 3 minutes after starting mine. im not sure it is the belt though. it is tight enough so i think it may be pulley bearings? how long does the chirping last for on your truck before it goes away?
