I have a '97 F-150 4.6 manual 4x4. Recently, my speedometer had gone bad. It reads about 5-10 miles less than actual speed. Some mechanic friends told me that the cable needs to be lubed. Just called dealer, and they said that rear-end sensor could be bad. They also didn't have a listing for speedometer cable. Said it was sent by a sensor. I thought that was on the '99+ trucks. They also said that there are two different types of manuals in that truck, I thought there was just one. Anyway, any suggestions you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.
