Beware, No Warranty
Hi all,
Yeah, pretty funny stuff.
Only problem is, a mechanic can screw you and your vehicle over in so many ways that you can't even imagine. Things that won't even manifest as being a problem for 1000's of miles. Good luck trying to prove they did something wrong or malicious, at that point, unless you're "20/20" with cameras hidden under the hood, etc.
There's a few people in life you don't want to unnecessarily screw around with: auto mechanics, repair people, chefs/waiters, the people who watch your kids, doctors, lawyers, etc.
Most sales people are usually fair game.

feefer:
You make a good point about some mechanic's and that they may screw with your truck/car etc.
Plywood is cheap, so is paint, and boy do they hate you driving around there lot (or the road by it) with a sign saying "I got screwed over by a machanic and they won't fix it" or "Have car repared here at your own risk" The list goes on, before you know it, at least if you continue that at a particular dealer soon they (the whole damn place) will be like "one person you don't want to screw with is this guy" they would have a picture of you and you truck right in the garage with remarks like "please ensure his truck is repaired correctly the first time"
Point = It works both ways

Let's be realistic here. How many mechanics do you know that purposely sabotaged a vehicle? Maybe I take offense to these kind of posts because I grew up as a son of a mechanic. My dad took great pride in his work and it really bothers me when people stereo type a certain profession. There are good and bad in every profession, it's up to you to find the good ones.
These posts are starting to resemble ones that Steven1642 use to post. Sorry next time I come on here I'll bring my shovel along.
Sorry for my venting.

Hi all,
Don't take any of this too seriously, NaviMan. Note all the smilies: folks are joshing.
Mechanics are no less (or more) moral than the members of any other profession. There's good and bad people in every profession, and the fact remains that we must DEPEND on the expertise of the people who provide service to us, as we often don't know if what they're doing is correct...
However, no profession is immune from human nature: people generally don't respond well to threats and bullying, and there's always going to be a minority of waitresses who'll spit in your food if you're rude, etc. Is that news to anyone? Share a few beers with service people, and you usually can get them to reveal maybe one example where they 'taught someone a lesson' or 'got even'.
My point (which I think some are missing) is that it usually doesn't pay to get confrontational in order to get your customer service issues resolved, especially when you're subsequently expecting some service to be provided.
And even if you do so, you usually can't taste the spit anyway.

I'm just amazed you can still type at this point, after she sat on you.
