Truck Stalled out.
Truck Stalled out.
This morning when I was making a right turn the truck just stalled on me it restarted with no problems and didn't have any more problems after the one time thing. The truck has over 63800 miles on it. Any buddy have any ideas on what would have caused it to stall out like it did.
what kind of wieght do you have hanging on your ignition key?....
it will start to give you problems like that or hard getting it into gear espiecally at first start up(having to push cylinder in to get it to release shifter)...just a thought
I had the same problem. Drove me crazy. It usually happened after making a turn or backing off throttle from traffic flow. No pattern just did it whenever it felt like it.
Turned out to be leaky vaccuum lines. I found this out when I finally got a "Check EngienLight" for a completely unrelated code. I traced the vacuum lines down for that problem only to find that 3 out of my 4 lines had numerous little holes in them. Spliced in new line and it fixed all my wooes.
Check out your vacuum lines on the main manifold behind the battery tray. Pull the sheath back and make sure they are all in good shape.
By the way you can hook up a vacuum gauge at a port there and measure vacuum. You should pull a continous 18+ Hg. If you aren't, start looking.

Hey TallTomG my truck stalled out when i was making a right turn just slowed down a little to make it still was making it kind of hard and thats when iit stalled out I'll go and check my vacum lines and see if thats my problem.
Where can you buy the IAC valve, and how much is going to cost? Easy to install? I have also read that there is a way to take it off and clean it with carb cleaner. Is this an option that will do some good? Any special thing that have to be done for reinstallation after the cleaning? Just had my 2000 F150 stall about an hour ago. Cranked up fine, but then idle dropped down and engine shut off. 3 times in a row.
Yea, that happened to me awhile back. Only did it one time. Only, i was making a LEFT turn right into the ford dealership. Kinda weird that it did it right when i entered into ford. But , that was back when my truck had a bad missfire. Actually, it seems like my truck has only broken down when i was next to a ford dealership. Makes me think

I look at the glass as "half-full".
So, though you may think it's bad that your truck tends to break down in front of or at a Ford dealer is a good thing.
Could you just picture your truck breaking down in front of a Chevy dealer and having to go in to use a phone???
Not so good....
