Question Oil for engine, tranny, rear end Question

I have a 98 4.6 with auto tranny. I think that im pretty decided as to which engine oil im going to use next change, and thats Mobil 1 Pure synthetic 10w-30.
Im gona change tranny fluid as well. What type should i get? is there a synthetic tranny fluid i should use?
Also , does the rear end fluid need changed? I havnt heard much on this, so i need some help here? Synthetic available for this also? How often should rear end get serviced?

Any tips or comments would help THanks
-Patrick

I just changed the Trans fluid and Rear End fluid on my 98 4.6l
f-150. I have 44,000 miles on my truck.

I used Castrol Semi Synthetic Mercon V automatic trans fluid. Drained the torque convertor and the trans pan. It took 12 quarts to do the job.

I used Mobil 1 Synthetic gear oil for the rear end and I added the 4 oz friction modifier that is requested by Ford for Limited Slip rear ends.

Both jobs are fairly easy to do and you can get some very detailed instructions on how to do each, on this web site.

Hope this will help you out. Good Luck!
