setting temp for electric fans

I have a 97 f-150 with a 4.6. I got the dual 16 inch electric fan kit from mike(of course) and I'm wondering what I should and can use to test the water temp. Do I have to buy something to test it, if so then what?

Also I ordered the power pulleys from the f-150 site and I was going to do em both at the same time and was wondering how in the heck does the water pump pulley come off. I took the belt off and took the bolts off of the fan and the pulley but the clutch still stayed on. Which wouldn't let me take the pulley off. And before I got over my head I just reinstalled it back with the stock pulley. Can someone please explain how I can get the whole thing off(cause I'll do the electric fans at same time).

Sorry I know I'm not the brightest guy on the block but I drive all ford so that's gotta count for something!!!!

Thanx guys and gals

Hello 6Jeff6,

The smart move you made was buying the fan kit from Mike. Give him a call and he can walk you through the process. He actually seems to enjoy helping customers.

All of your questions are answered in the instructions he sent with your fan kit.

I really would call on him....he can best answer your questions on the phone. I can tell ya he has been a great help to myself and others here.

Rocks
