difficulty starting

For the first time since I bought my '97 F-150 (used--May 2001) it did not want to start. It has been cranking over for a second or two before firing up lately, and I have been contemplating fuel injector servicing and O2 sensor replacement (104,000mi today).

When the truck didn't want to start, the truck was cold and the weather damp (thanks Isadora). Does anyone have any ideas? Check Engine light has not come on. When the truck finally started, it ran as strong as it ever did. Once warmed up, it started with only the slightest bump of the ignition. I'm stumped.

It idled fine. Very smooth. On some occaissions, while sitting at a stop light, it will begin to shudder and the revs will drop slightly. A couple of blips on the throttle usually smooths out the idle. Thanks for your input. I will take a look at the ICV.

Lightbulb

Some guys were having the same trouble from the PCV elbow on the back of the intake also. The rough idle thing definitely sounds like an IAC symptom, though. Good luck, and let us know what came out of this.,,,,98
