Installing oil pressure switch

Ok I disconnected my manual oil pressure guage and want to hook up the oil level guage in the dash back up. I removed the brass connectors from the sending hole (barely enough room for my hand!). What else do I have to do to connect it? The switch does not just bolt right into the hole because it hits the fuel pump and block before the threads can reach the hole. I thought there was a fitting that goes between the block and switch for it to fit in place? The auto shop guys told me they do not know how I can connect it but they suggested I check out for a brass connecter to try and connect it. BTW I have a Chilton manual but it doesn't cover the OPS at all. Any help is appreciated.

There should be an adapter that the oil press switch screws into.
Might be a dealer item, or junk yard.
