Talking Holy Smokes This VOLANT R O C K S !!!

Hey all- Well, as promised here's my review on my new Volant Cold Air system.

Got it at Truckperformance for 277.00, FedExed for 12.00 (yep!)
Took 15 minutes to install- very intuitive and excellent instructions clearly NOT translated from Japanese. Disconnected battery with headlights on for 10 minutes, and then drove part throttle for about 10 miles (this vastly speeds up your trucks learning curve!)

Well, guys, H O L Y S M O K E S !!!!
This is awesome. Feels like I got a bit of low end back over my crappy FIPK, and MAN does it pull hard at 5500! Best part is, I've already driven it in 90+ weather, AND NO POWER LOSS!!!!

I'm so friggin happy- what can I say!

BIGKAHUNAXXXX,
It is a cold air intake kit like the K&N, Airforce One and others.

Think it was worth the 300 bucks?

$300? Sure, but remember, all the little parts add up to a little more power- not just one. My exhaust is quite advanced, among other tweaks.

Second to last post- you're missing the boat entirely. Airforce1, K+N (I just took it off), AirRaid, etc ARE NOT COLD AIR INTAKES- they suck air out of the hot engine compartment. The Volant utilizes a performance tube, an enlarged closed box with a K+N style cone filter and a closed (much larger than stock) attachment to the fenderwell. It is a true cold (cool, really) air system.

And well worth the $277 plus shipping!

Palerider, I'm with you on the cold air thing. Volant is the only intake I've even considered because of the cold air intake. Now that you have given it such a good review I will be looking even closer at it. Thanks for the review.

Dodge4x4, you can order the W-30 hood from yearone. I think its www.yearone.com. they have a huge catalog with every part you could ever need. I have pics of the car in my gallery. Gallery is in my sig.

Wink

Gotta love an old Cutlass I had two of them back to back about 10 years ago. First one was a green on green 72 Supreme, and the second was a triple black 71 Convertible. Both were nice driving vehicles, rock steady and handled well for their weight. If I ever get my Falcon done, I may get an old 70's beast for fun. I've also been waiting for the Volant to drop in price, it's getting there soon I hope. The cheapest I've seen it is $262 at JC Whitney. Year One is a great place to get parts, if you can get over the prices!!,,,,,98

Man, just looked at the gallery, beastie. It made me miss my old conv. Take off the ram air hood, the stripes, and paint the grills silver, and that was my car. Nice looking ride!!,,,,98
