PCV Hose for 5.4 fix?

I just discovered my PCV hose is cracked at the elbow that goes into the manifold. The fitting that comes out of the manifold is bigger than the end that connects to the PCV end. What have any of you used to adapt between the two sizes instead of using the factory piece. I'm planning on ordering the original hose, but if it isn't in stock, I wanted a temporary solution that works.

I have seen the Lighting put a piece in between the two hoses. I think it is a compressed air filter (Cambell H #MP5138) added barbed fittings(type used on air tools) and then go buy two hoses from your local parts store. They do this to stop the flow of oil into their Throttle body. I have thought about doing it to mine.
