After a week got my new truck back with the new engine. Looks like the dealer did a good job. They also gave me a free 75K mile bumper to bumper warranty.

2002 white FX4 5.4L

 

What was it in for? It scares me that you have a 2002 5.4 and needed a new motor....

 

What went wrong with the first engine.

 

First they replaced the rear main. During that fiasco they bend up the tranny pan and had to replace the pan. Then they didn't tighten the cooler line properly and had a slight tranny fluid leak. Anyway the rear main didn't fix the leak. Said the seat for the bear was a bad casting. So they put in a new engine. It was at the dealer for over a week waiting for an engine from Windsor so I'm affraid to look under there for a couple of days to see if it's OK. They offered to replace the truck, but the only thing they found was one at a lower trim level and they looked all over. So I elected to keep this truck. Otherwise it's great.
