5.4 in F150 vs. F250SD
5.4 in F150 vs. F250SD
I wanted to bring this up because something doesn't make sense. The 5.4 is rated at 260hp for 2001. O.K. But the intake and exhaust are less restrictive. The SD TB is at a 45 degree angle, and has a straight tube from the corner. The exhaust has one cat, 2 O2 sensors, and 3" pipe.
So does the SD 5.4 put more power to the wheels than the F150? I would think that with a less restrictive exhaust, there's more power. Let me know what you think.

It's all about emissions. Different requirements. The Superduty may make a hair more power but the added weight eats it up. It's probably a wash.
BTW, your truck is looking better and better! How about loosing those hub caps for some 5 star Lariet wheels?

I had a 1999 F250SD 4x4 Supercab with the 5.4L on a 2 year lease. When the lease was up, I leased a 2000 F150 4x4 Supercab with the 5.4L.
There is no comparison, the F150 is much faster than the Super Duty was. Granted, the SD weighed more, plus the SD I had only had the 245 H.P. version of the 5.4, but this F150 is much more enjoyable to drive (power wise) than the SD.
Doug.
