Yeah, sort of. I have had a few panic stops and thought Oh, God, I buying someone a new car but, I have never hit anyone. It always seems to stop right before I crap my pants and hit someone. I guess it'f Ford's way of giving you a thrill.

I think the brakes on my truck are the best of all three vehicles I currently own. The Explorer... I won't go into that, but I could drag my foot and stop quicker. The Probe is good, but it never seems proportioned right... too much front bias. The truck, on the other hand, stops very solid with decent pedal feel. As for panic stops, the ABS kicks in quite early, especially in the wet, but it's only doing its job to stop the rear end from locking up on me.

Just my .02... you asked!

No, I guess I didn't see it. I read so many, I forget which ones I have read. Well, I have noticed there are a couple trucks fron Cincinnati and one or two in KY. We should have our own meeting sometime.

Lightbulb

Same brake thing here(sometimes). Other times it stops great? If anyone has weak brakes, pull the rear drums and check the equalizer cables. My truck has snapped two of them since I got it two years ago. Once it's replaced and rear brakes are adjusted,it's takes almost a week to get used to them again . ,,,,98

Cool

I got the four wheel disk with anti locks. It kinda was an important factor when I bought the truck. It really stops nicely. and I even had a couple of occasions to "test" out the ANti-lock, all four wheels for me.

generally the prob is the drum brakes are not set up that great from the factory, the prob is that the new style trucks are harder to adjust as too tight and they grab and too lose and the dont do much, and the auto adjust back up wont take up enough as they have to be properly adjusted to begin with and then the auto will work fine, ford also has a groove on the new shoes to prevent grabbin in humid conditions - that is why it is best to buy ford ones and dont get the ford quality prefered as they dont have the updated rear shoes (ford tring to compete with aftermarket cheap shoes, get what u pay for)buy ford brown box shoes with grove on secondary shoe and then they can be adjusted up tigher without grabbing
