Engine Noise?
Hi
Read thread on piston slap. Noise in my engine has gotten
progressively louder this past year. Didnt want to start new thread...but read where the Romeo engines didnt have PS.
99SC 4.6L (Romeo) 30,000 mi. Use 5/30 oil. Truck made in Can.
Dont actually know what PS sounds like...but descriptions some have given sound familiar...in my case on cold start up...its a loud click/click/clicking (metalic?)noise.
After engine warms alittle, not as loud, but still noticeable. Listening thru hose...at pan...very low noise...at block just above it is more noticeable. Standing along side..real noticeable. Sound dosent seem to change with rpm's.
Engine runs ok...no abnormal oil burning etc.
Could this be PS? Also i agree..mine sounds like a ''mini-diesel"
