Electric Fan Bolt on kit needed?
This is crazy. When I was a kid I made the mistake of trying to supe up a 330 oldsmobile engine. It was so difficult to buy high perfomrance parts. I swore, next time, the 350 small block chevy - everything is available for the chevy. Now I have the most popular truck sold in America, the F150, and I can't find a ready to bolt electric fan kit. I have read all the hits from the search and know of the Houston Performanc Mark v, Permacool, Flexlite, etc. But is anyone making a complete ready to go, bolt on kit. If not, can anyone list all the components and degree of difficulty in the piece meal adapting approach.
Not really a bolt in for the F150, the SN95 fan would be easy to mount on the F150:

HI!... HAZE10 : I installed twin DERALE 16 inch electric fans on my F-150. They are controlled by a PERMA-COOL electronic fan theremastat. Took me about 45 minutes to install and that is including removing the stock clutch fan. Hope this helps you out.

PermaCool will be coming out with their CoolPakII for Fords in early summer according to one of their marketing reps I corresponded with about 2 months ago. Go to their site: <www.perma-cool.com>
and click on the CoolPak II link. It looks very nice and is supposed to bolt in to the existing bolt holes.....just have to wait for it to be manufactured and marketed.
Good luck....

i am experiencing the same problem. i have decided that this will be my next mod but am yet to find a pre-packaged kit.
found something by a company called electric fan engineering but i dont know anyone who has used them. i posted that as a topic here several days ago and received no responses.
i have also emailed flex-a-lite (with no response) and am watching the perma-cool site. i did find a kit for a chevy truck, but no ford. i didnt think it would be this though.

Neal,i'd just like to tell you that it sounds like you have 2 VERY nice trucks.
Area52,do you know of any good oil filter relocation kits?i think that'd be a pretty good idea that thing is hard to get to.

billycouldride, I notice in your sig you have a custom ss y-pipe, I have heard these make a nice diffrence in power. I have the same exhaust system that you have (Gibson) and I was just wondering what additional difference it would make , also where to order a Y-Pipe from?

Haze, Truckperformance.com has a bolt on Flex-a-lite kit for the fords. twin fan setup. looks like the perma-cool one with the same feaures. seems expensive but maybe the perma-cool one will be around the same price when it comes out. have to wait and see. I've been thinking about this mod too. has any one out there put the flex-a-lite one on their truck?

Neal, Quick question is there an aftermarket cam that I could swap to with a 4.6 that may give me more grunt off the line. I really don't race the truck I've got old datsun Z cars for that, I just want a little more power and have already done most of the easy mod's. I just can't afford a supercharger yet. Thanks in advance

look under 'exhuast' then 'lookin for 'billycouldride', search will pull it up nice.
it was well worth it
if you search through both exhaust threads you'll see lots of stuff about this.
good luck

I was hoping someone knew the link for the JDM fan.
Anyhow, if you want the best fan get a Lincoln Mark8 or Crown Vic unit. Used will cost about 40-50. Get a Hayden controller and 35 amp circuit breaker. Cost 30-40 bucks. A few bolts and you have an electric fan setup for under $100!
The Mark8 fans can flow over 5000CFM @ 14v. So it is no slouch. The Crown Vic unit does not flow that much, I would say close to 4000 CFM.
I have the crown vic unit and have never had problems at all with it! I remove the stock fan and clutch, then bolted the CV fan to the inside of the shroud (17" diameter). Looks factory, works even better. Picked up some HP, torque and 1mpg on the highway. No problems in 90 degree heat in stop and go traffic or towing our 2000lb boat!
We are installing the Mark8 fan that I have in my garage in CJs 97 along with a body lift this weekend. I am sure some people will post about the fan install after Sunday. We are having a work party here for the Oregon Chapter to install CJs bodylift and fan. Maybe change some plugs also.
So if you have to pay for one, you are limited for sure. If you want a better fan then you can buy from like flex-a-lite or permacool and save money at the same time, start shopping at the junkyards.

Hi Haze10,
The straight bolt-on kits with shroud and themperature swithes are a lot more that getting a couple of Perma-cools or Derales and wiring them up yourself. Neal is running dual 16" Derales without the stock shroud, and I am running dual 14" Perma-Cools with the stock shroud trimmed to fit. Either way is an improvement.
