Problems with Gen II FIPK
Never heard of it...but tips from others boil down to: make sure all of your hoses and clamps are on very secure.
Might want to contact K&N for advise. If that doesn't help, it might not be the FIPK.

sorry to hear about your truck.
I have had a Gen II FIPK in for about a Year and I have never heard or had that problem. You may want to have the ENG put on the computer to see what went wrong. It sounds like a O2 sensor ore something?

I checked all the connections and they were good. I had the same kind of problem on my '97 F150 STX. That truck had the K&N replacement filter in it. I talk to a Ford Service Tech in Kindersly, SK and he said Ford had a report on K&N air filters stating that the oil from the filter clogs up the mass airflow sensors. This causes the computer to increase the fuel to mixture greatly which floods the motor. We inspected the sensor and it was clean, the tech had no other ideas.
Installed a Gen II kit on my truck about 5,000kms ago, last night the motor started to flood very bad and it did not sound like it was getting enough air. The motor finally quick and took alot of cranking to get it to go. Has anyone had similair problems after installing K&N airfilters.
