what is a good price to pay a shop to rebuild my engine (1989 5.0) if i provide them the kit? it basically consists of new pistons, rings, bearings, and gaskets. any information is highly appreciated because i do not want to get ripped off, thanks!!!

You are looking at about $520 to $1800, but depends on how much they are going to bore the block, hot tank it, and if they need to machine the heads and if it needs a valve job.

If you are having a straight rebuild done with no hi-po parts why not just buy a new motor. You might be surprised. I dont know about Ford you can buy a new 350 from any chevy dealer for under 2k.

this was my original idea, but i dont know which engines will bolt up to my tranny and if my fuel injection will be compatible and which engines will fit under the hood. and everyone i ask doesn't seem to know, so i figured id rebuild the one i already have with some hi performance parts.

Look in the Ford Motorsport catalogue. They should have something that work.
