code 304

I just replaced my plugs and wires about 5 thousand miles ago. Should I replace the coil packs? I have a '97 4.6 auto. It ran bad all the way home and stopped at Auto zone on the way . I do have the Mac intake system. Thanks for any help.

code 304 is the #4 plug...

missing and i,d bet youve got water down inside the well and the insulator has cracked...solution; change the plug and put deelectric grease in the boot and swab the outside around the area of the three rings on the boot and replace. look at your a/c line above the area of the plug and you,ll notice the larger diameter line dripping condensation on to the heater hose and that is routing it over to the area of the plug. you can go to an a/c supply house and ask if they have a spray product that when applied will stop the condesation. the coil pack replacment should be considered only after you check them out by ohming the terminals and recording the numbers and checking them against specs....good luck

You were right about water in the hole. I blew it all out and cleaned the inside of the boot and checked the plug. I think the hole filled with antifreeze from when I flushed with a "T" fitting. Still had spark, so I reintalled everything and did what you said about the dielectric grease. Hopefully its all good now. Thanks for your response.
