I just installed a MAC cold air induction on my 02 4.6, my question is: there is a black plastic box that is right behind the TB and it was hooked up to my stock air ind. Do I need that black box? It seems hollow and pretty useless. Any ideas?

that is your pvc breather.on the 4.6 but my 5.4 dont have one..you make the call....

Well I used the chrome elbow instead of the box, let it idle for a few minutes and then took it for test drive and sounded good, no leaks. We will see..........
