Gas oktane

Hć there .. Just wondering when you are talking about gas oktane you seem to have 87-91 okt.. while we have back here from 95-99+ I just trie´d the 99+ cause people told me it would make a huge diff. and also clean up the injectors and stuff:;
I was told on this forum that oktane is not measured the same in USA and in Europe..
Thanks..

Hi Roggi

That would be most important to know. On our computer controlled engines...i believe here in the USA..minumun octane is 87.

If your engine required 87...thats what you use. If it required higher, same thing. There could be problems from NOT using the correct octane? Also could be a waste of $$$?

Good question...i dont know but maybe someone here does?

Good luck...OT

Post Octane

Roggi,

For what I know is, that 95 octane in Europe is similar to 93 in the US.
98 octane is the highest available in The Netherlands.
95 the lowest.

98 Leaded premium
98 Unleaded premium
98 premium plus (lead is subtituted by something else)

The 99+, is it leaded or unleaded fuel on Iceland?

You are talking about cleaning the injectors, does that mean you have problems with the engine running right?

BTW

You have a 99 truck also, does your truck have the door cracks.

TIA

we only have unleaded gas in Iceland,,
I thought you had the 99+ in central Europe ,,,,,,,, advertise´d with Schumacher and pricy...105 kr while the 95 cost´s 90 kr
Cessjan what oktane do you use.??
No i don´t have injectors problem but if this helps it helps,,
i sure would like more power,,
if our 95 is like 93 in Usa then the 98 and 99+ would be something you can´t have in USA...??
A door crack is something i don´t have and don´t know what is.

Maybe Germany has 99+ but I haven't seen it here in Holland, Roggi.
I am filling up with 95 unleaded, 1.159 Euro per liter. ($4.29/gallon)
98 premium plus 1.213 ($4.49/gallon)
Don't know how many kroner in a Euro.
When does Iceland switch to Euro's.

Hi Roggi

Just keep checking here. Maybe someone knows for sure about the difference in octane ratings.

Your truck chipped...same for me...i have schip flipchip...2 programs 1 for 87oct and 1 for 91-94oct.

Also available a single program schip uses 91-94oct. Dont know what you have?

You might try posting on the computer chip bd.

Good luck....OT
